San Thi Dar wants to become a teacher

 In News

Christmas is a time of giving and as we approach the festive season, I am reminded of a newly sponsored child from Myanmar, San Thi Dar, who even in the face of severe adversity wanted to give to others.

San Thi Dar’s father died when she was just 3 leaving herself, mother and brother struggling to survive. They had HIV, the mother couldn’t find employment and sometimes couldn’t afford food. No matter their hardship, San Thi Dar stayed positive by holding onto her dream to become a teacher.

Last month she joined our sponsorship program. Now, San Thi Dar can rebuild her life with her family.  She greatly looks up to her teachers and also wants to teach disadvantaged children to get them to enjoy school as much as she does. She loves playing games pretending to be a teacher and became so passionate about it she has now started to teach children in her community! We will continue to support her to help her dreams come true.

Why not give the greatest gift to a friend or loved one with a sponsorship and change a child’s life forever? For less than CHF 1 a day you can provide a vulnerable child living in one of Myanmar’s largest slums with health care, education, food and household items or you can make a one time donation to our childrenfonds

With your support, we can continue our mission to give impoverished children the opportunity to live a healthy and happy life.
